How to find us

Please don't put Moor Barton or Moor Barton Woods into sat nav or google maps as this will take you somewhere quite different. If you use google maps, you need to make sure you type in MOOR BARTON WILDING. Alternatively you can use this google maps pin: https://goo.gl/maps/kfD7x6Cy8f4d1tmHA or the directions below.

Moor Barton Wilding can be reached from the B3212 between Exeter and Moretonhampstead or the A382 between Bovey Tracey and Moretonhampstead.

From the Exeter direction: take the B3212 to Moretonhampstead. Drive through Dunsford and Doccombe. 20 minutes along the B3212 from Exeter and half a mile after Doccombe you'll come to a small junction at the top of a rise. There are two small lanes, take the second left signed for Hennock.

*Follow the narrow and winding lane for 1.75 miles. Please ignore a stone slate sign to Moor Barton on your left (confusing we know), carry on past Lewdon Farm on your right until you come to Moor Barton Woods on the left. Look for the wooden ‘Moor Barton Woods’ sign and drive into the woods through two wooden five bar gates.

From Moretonhampstead: take the B3212 towards Exeter for 1.5 miles. After some twisting you'll reach the top of a hill and find two turnings on your right. Take the first (at 3 o’clock) signed for Hennock. Follow from * above.

From Bovey Tracey: follow the A382 towards Moretonhampstead. Turn right at Slade Cross just under 2 miles from Bovey Tracey, where there is a small farm set back on the road. Follow the narrow road up a steep hill with hairpin turns and then on for another half mile. Turn left at the T-junction and follow the road for just over 1.8 miles. You’ll pass Blackingstone Farm on your left and a mile later Moor Barton Woods is on the right hand side.

Parking: Drive into the woods. You'll see a ride leading beyond the gate, with a mature beech bank on the right hand side and a stand of young sitka spruce on the left. Drive down the bumpy track until you come to a parking area on the left hand side which is signposted. Alternatively park near the gate on the left and walk down the track.
